1. Local-First Philosophy
At LocalUtils, we believe your data belongs to you. Our core utility tools (PDF tools, image converters, OCR, data formatters, etc.) are designed to process your files entirely within your web browser. No document, image, or raw data you upload to these tools is ever sent to our servers.
2. Data We Collect
While your files stay local, we do collect minimal data to provide our services:
- Account Information: If you sign up for a Premium account, we store your email address and basic profile metadata provided by your login provider (e.g., Google).
- Subscription Data: We use Stripe to process payments. We store your subscription status and basic billing history, but we do not store your credit card details on our servers.
- Interface Preferences: Theme, language, dismissed notices, and selected tool preferences may be stored in your browser.
- Advertisements: For free users, we use Google AdSense which may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
3. Local Storage and IndexedDB
Our tools may use your browser's localStorage or IndexedDB to temporarily store your work (for example, keeping a list of PDFs you want to merge). This data stays on your device and is not accessible by us.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services:
- Supabase: For secure authentication and account management.
- Stripe: For secure payment processing.
- Google AdSense: For displaying advertisements to free users.
- Static Hosting and CDN Services: For delivering the application code and public assets. Selected files are not sent to these services for processing.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your account information at any time through the Account menu. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data from our backend, please contact our support.
6. Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy or an account-data request, sign in and use the Feedback control in the sidebar. Do not include confidential file contents in the message.
